Color therapy is using the application of color is various ways for the purpose of healing and maintaining health. We absorb color from the sun’s rays everyday. We absorb seven colors specifically that relate to seven energy points on our bodies; these points comprise our chakra system. Our chakra system regulates the movement of energy throughout the body. This energy can become unbalanced throughout the body due to internal and external factors. Color therapy is used to treat our chakra system. This is done by drawing energy in using the color that corresponds to the depleted energy point. This idea has been around for thousands of years. Color therapy was practiced in ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Rome, Greece, and India. Light being the natural source of color, is the most popular application of color therapy. Other applications include meditation and visualization as well as diet.
