McBride has been practicing massage since 1987. She has taught herbal medicine and women’s health for 20 years and has taught Herbology at UCSF School of Nursing and Stanford Hospital. An intuitive and inspiring teacher, Kami has helped thousands of people to use herbal medicine in their daily lives in ways that are healthy, safe and fun.

Herbs in the massage room bring a healing quality to the session that affects not only the client but also the practitioner.  

This class covers indications, contraindications and methods of preparation of the external use of herbs in a therapeutic setting. Students will leave with a clear understanding of how to begin making and formulating their own high-quality inexpensive topical herbal preparations. Creating your own customized herbal preparations is simple and brings the bountiful healing energy of the plants into your practice. Clients love the added value of herbs in their session. Join us for a hands-on day of herbal indulgence.

  • Learn to make your own herbal massage oil blends, aromatherapy lotions and healing flower salves.
  • Understand how to use herbal oils to help with a variety of complaints including, whiplash, sore muscles, cramps, bruises, rheumatic pain, tired muscles, nervousness anxiety, dry skin and nerve pain.
  • Meet an extensive Materia Medica of herbs with a variety of topical uses that can be easily and safely incorporated into any Bodywork practice. Some of the herbs covered are: arnica, calendula, comfrey, juniper, lavender, plantain, rosemary, St. John’s wort and more...
